Timothy Mason, CFP®, ChFC, CLU

My name is Tim Mason. Welcome to my website.

As an AXA Advisors Financial Consultant and active member of the Colorado Springs community, I am dedicated to helping individuals and businesses build their financial futures.

I recieved my Bachelor of Science in Finance from Boston College. During my 15-year career I have regularly attended industry training and certification programs so I remain at the top of my field. This includes completing the curriculum and passing the rigorous exams for the:

  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, (CFP®)
  • Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), The American College
  • Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), The American College
  • FINRA registration: Series 6, Series 7, Series 53, Series 66, Series 24

Along with my academic achievement and financial certifications, in 2009 I was inducted into AXA Advisors's Hall of Fame and I have the distinction of being a member of AXA's Paramount Planning Group.

The Paramount Planning Group is a select group of financial professionals affiliated with AXA Advisors, LLC who are distinguished as exceeding the highest standard of experience, knowledge and service in the industry. We are motivated and highly experienced, with the ability to meet and exceed both the simple and complex needs of our clients. There is no client need too great or too small, from sophisticated strategies to traditional applications, we do it all.  We are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of innovative, professional and quality service.

My education, experience and professional affiliations have fostered my practical approach to offering financial advice and planning services to my clients. Rather than recommending a hodgepodge of unrelated products, I will first consider your specific financial goals.  Working together, we formulate a strategy to help you achieve your goals. Then, as a Financial Consultant of AXA Advisors, LLC, and an agent of the AXA Network, LLC, I will recommend the appropriate products and services to help you execute your strategy.

Maintaining a strong sense of community and a solid professional foundation are very important to me. My community activities and professional affiliations include:

  • Board of Trustees of the Pikes Peak United Way
  • The Resource Exchange Board Member
  • YMCA Metro Board Member

Thanks for visiting.

CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP (with flame logo) ® are certification marks owned by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.

Do You Have Enough Disability Coverage

Disability can affect anyone without notice, and a well-paid professional in the midst of a productive career has much to lose if he or she suffers a medical problem and is unable to work. But there are ways that high earners can expand their coverage and help ensure that their income, assets, and lifestyle are not at risk from a potential disability.

The Difference Between the Debt and the Deficit

The terms "debt" and "deficit" are often used interchangeably to describe the federal government's financial situation, yet they have significantly different meanings. This explanation of the budget deficit and the national debt may help readers understand the conversation.

Deciding When to Begin

Waiting until full retirement age (or up to age 70) to claim Social Security may result in significantly higher monthly benefits. At age 62, the earliest age to claim Social Security, the amount received could be only 70% of the benefit received at "full retirement age" (which ranges from age 65 to 67 depending on year of birth).

Retaining MVPs with Executive Bonus Life Insurance

An economic recovery is likely to bring more job opportunities to top performers, but it could prove costly for businesses to replace productive employees who decide to leave. An executive bonus plan funded with cash-value life insurance can be used to reward and retain an organization's most valuable employees.
